Scholars and staff at Astrea Academy Sheffield are today celebrating another year of fantastic GCSE results, with more scholars than ever achieving top grades in English and Maths.
We are exceptionally proud of the fantastic achievements that scholars have made across the academy.
Staff at Astrea Academy Sheffield have gone above and beyond to ensure their scholars were as prepared as possible for their GCSEs.
In particular, the school has offered weekly additional revision across the year, access to theatre trips and overseas residentials and a bespoke mentoring programme where A-level scholars tutored their Y11 peers.
The extra support paid off with many scholars achieving excellent results.
Among the high performers include:
· Rhema Korely who achieved eight 9s and one 7.
· Fidel Ohaka who achieved two 9s, two 8s, three 7s and a 6.
· Amani Cooray who achieved one9, three 8s, three 7s and two 6s.
David Boyd, Principal at Astrea Academy Sheffield, said: “Well done to our amazing scholars who have achieved another fantastic set of results. These outcomes are testament to their hard work and the staff who have taught and supported them.
“Today is one of those days where scholars can celebrate with friends, families and staff. I have loved seeing so many happy smiling faces in our school today and talking about their next steps.”
“We are excited to continue to work with so many of our scholars on their academic journey in our sixth form. We could not be prouder of our scholars and look forward to seeing the remarkable contributions they make to the community we serve.
“These results reflect the high standards we set for academic excellence and ensure our scholars can access university or a desirable alternative.”
Rowena Hackwood, CEO for Astrea Academy Trust, said: “Many congratulations to all of our young people who are receiving their GCSE results today. I know they have worked so hard to get to this point and should feel very proud of what they have achieved, alongside the support from their families and the whole school community.
“Special thanks too, to David and his staff team at AAS, who have supported our scholars with their studies.”
