KS3 Remote Learning

Remote Learning - March 2021 Information

If any scholar has to isolate due to being in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, they will be able to join their normal school lessons from home using Microsoft Teams.

All lessons will be LIVE and will be delivered through Microsoft Teams.

Each morning at 8.20am,  scholars can join a Teams meeting in their tutor group Team. There will be a new call for each lesson at the times stated above.

Scholars will only need their laptop or tablet, a pad of paper, a black pen and a red pen to access online lessons. If the isolation is due to a bubble closure within the academy, some departments may give scholars resources such as work booklets to support the live lessons.

Whilst isolating, scholars are still expected to complete their daily homework tasks using their knowledge organisers.

What if your live lesson fails?

If your live lesson fails, please immediately try to re-join your lesson through Microsoft Teams.

If you are having internet problems preventing you from joining online lessons, please let the school know by ringing main reception on 0114 5539110. You need to complete your homework for the day using your knowledge organisers.

Requesting a laptop if you're isolating

If you need to borrow a laptop or tablet to access online learning please ring our reception Team on 0114 5539110 or email

Unfortunately we are not able to make laptops or tablets available for scholars who have symptoms of coronavirus or those who have tested positive themselves.

Any borrowed devices need to be returned to the Academy on your child’s first day back in the same condition as they were given to you in. Families may be charged for any damage done to devices.
