Secondary Remote Learning

Remote Learning - January 2022 - Information

If any of our scholars are asked to isolate due to coronavirus they will continue to follow their normal timetable and be invited to their lessons through Microsoft Teams.

Scholars are all part of Teams that match the lessons or classes they are in and this is where they can join the lesson at the start of every period. Teachers will also try to invite scholars who are isolating.

To ensure scholars are making the most of their online lessons they will need some basic equipment with them. Scholars will need at least one of each of the following:

  • Blue or black pen
  • Red pen
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Scientific calculator

Homework

Whilst isolating, scholars are still expected to complete their daily homework tasks using their knowledge organisers.

What if your live lesson fails?

If your live lesson fails, please immediately try to re-join your lesson through Microsoft Teams.

If you are having internet problems preventing you from joining online lessons, please let the school know by ringing main reception on 0114 5539110. You need to complete your homework for the day using your knowledge organisers.

Requesting a laptop if you're isolating

If you need to borrow a laptop or tablet to access online learning please ring our reception Team on 0114 5539110 or email info@astreasheffield.org.

Unfortunately we are not able to make laptops or tablets available for scholars who have symptoms of coronavirus or those who have tested positive themselves.

Any borrowed devices need to be returned to the Academy on your child’s first day back in the same condition as they were given to you in. Families may be charged for any damage done to devices.
